How to Get to Lake Havasu
Lake Havasu is located right on the western border of Arizona and California. It’s about a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Las Vegas, a three-and-a-half-hour drive from Phoenix, and over 9 hours from San Francisco. Highway 95 runs right through Lake Havasu City, making it a convenient drive from any major city. Lake Havasu is also close to other national parks in Arizona, including the Grand Canyon, three hours away.
When to Visit Lake Havasu
Lake Havasu boasts over 300 days of sunshine a year, offering year-round adventures for visitors. However, as with most of Arizona, the summers are sweltering, with some days reaching over 110 degrees, with desert evenings sometimes colder than expected. Depending on what activities you’d like to do will help you decide what season to visit. For example, summer is the best time to visit for water activities, while winter is still an excellent time for hiking and other activities in town.

Lake Havasu RV Resort
Lake Havasu RV Resort is located off Victoria Farms Road in Lake Havasu, AZ. This excellent RV resort is close to Lake Havasu City’s action while tucked away in the Colorado River Valley. It features 400 RV sites surrounding an owner’s clubhouse, outdoor pools, and an activity center.
The grounds include a nine-hole chip and putt golf course, bocce courts, and more. Other amenities include luxurious showers, an exercise room, laundry facilities, and internet services.
Havasu Falls RV Resort
You’ll probably see Havasu Falls RV Resort signs while driving on Highway 95. This RV resort is unique from October 1st to April 30th; the resort is an all adult 55+ park. In addition to a year-round heated pool, the RV park offers large 50-amp full hook-ups, cable TV and wireless internet, a clubhouse, and an outdoor patio. The resort offers fantastic views of Lake Havasu and boasts a recreation hall, patio area, and modern laundry.
Campbell Cove RV Resort
Campbell Cove RV Resort is a prime RV resort if you’re looking to be close to the famous London Bridge, which is only a mile and a half away, or the water on which this resort is located directly. This resort boasts a convenience store, close access to the public boat launch, sites with full hookups, and a clubhouse. Campbell Cove RV Resort is also a member of Passport America and offers guests a stay for up to three nights at just $28 per night.
Crazy Horse Campground
Crazy Horse Campground is located on the island across from London Bridge, offering a unique location to relax and park your RV. Here you’ll find a park full of modern amenities that provides lake access, beachfront sites, and boat and jet ski rentals. Both tent, camper, and RV sites are available to make everyone comfortable. This campground also offers cabins available for rent, starting at $160 a night. These cabins are only a few steps from the beach and feature their boat launch access nearby.
Havasu Springs Resort
Havasu Springs Resort features an RV park with over 100 full hook-ups that feature a lakefront view. This RV resort is conveniently located near the resort beaches, tennis courts, and resort pools. Benefits for campers include shower facilities, boat launch and docks, wifi access, and a restaurant and bar; The RV resort has paired with Colorado River Adventures to offer tours to guests at a great price.
Havasu Landing Resort
Havasu Landing Resort is a hotel and casino located on Lake Havasu in California. This resort also offers an RV campground with premium and view sites that provide full hook-up camping. On-site at the RV campground, you’ll find a fully stocked market and deli close to the marina boat ramp and rentals. The beer fridge is 14 doors long, six shelves high, and is the largest on the river! In addition to full hook-up camping, there is a laundromat, showers, dry storage, and a dump station.
Prospectors RV Resort
Prospectors RV Resort offers daily, weekly and monthly rates for guests at affordable rates year-round. The resort offers a full range of activities for guests, like ice cream socials, rootbeer floats, water aerobics in the communal pool, and other fitness classes. In addition to offering RV sites, this resort also offers modern one-bedroom apartments for rent with full kitchens and bathrooms.
Islander RV Resort
The Islander RV Resort is an excellent destination for a Lake Havasu vacation, no matter the season. This resort is also located on the island across from London Bridge, and it offers everything from full hook-up RV sites, park models for sale, and vacation rentals. There’s a private boat launch ramp here, large docks, and beaches. With the Boat House Grill on site, you can’t go wrong with staying here.
Sam’s Beachcomber RV Resort
This laid-back resort is also located on the island and offers the best that the area provides, from private access to Lake Havasu with secluded beaches, launch ramps, and boat docks. The RV resort also offers horseshoe pits, a pool, a spa, a recreation center, and a billiards room. Make sure to call ahead for reservations!

Lake Havasu State Park
While Lake Havasu State Park is a popular spot for beachfront RV and tent camping, it also offers some of the best beaches and nature trails. In addition, it provides three boat ramps, 54 campsites, 13 beachside cabins, a special event rental area, a picnic area, and a beach.
The fees are $20 per vehicle to enter Friday – Sunday and holidays and $15 Monday – Thursday. In addition, it costs $3 per individual/bicycle to enter. It is open 24 hours year-round, with the Visitor Center available for limited hours depending on the season.
Cattail Cove State Park
This state park offers a beach, boat ramp, and 61 campsites. This 2,000-acre park offers family and friends an abundance of opportunities to get away and have an adventure along Lake Havasu. In addition, the park provides opportunities for swimming, fishing, or just lounging.

River Island State Park
Located only 30 minutes by car from Lake Havasu City, River Island State Park is an excellent desert escape off the Colorado River. Here you’ll find 37 campsites, a beautiful beach, and a boat launch area. The park also features a great hiking trail and off-road highway. In addition, the well-known River Island Market is only a quarter-mile from the garden, where you can find groceries, a deli, gas, clothing, and storage.
The park is open 24 hours a day, year-round, and costs $10 per vehicle and $3 per individual or bicycle.
